Tropical interior design style for your BTO? [1 minute read]

We get frequent requests from home owners for designers who are strong in the Scandinavian or modern style. Both are beautiful styles if designed well. Occasionally, we get requests for less common styles such as bohemian or industrial.

However, there is a whole range of styles available that we have yet to get requests for, that we think are just as beautiful. One of them is tropical. It is a look inspired by beaches from Hawaii and French Polynesia, meant to reflect a relaxed and comfortable lifestyle. An atmosphere of ease and hospitality is also a desired outcome for the tropical style.

To create your own tropical style, use the following design elements:

Lush tropical foliage and large leaf plants prints
Bright floral bloom patterns such as hibiscus
Organic shapes
Warm vibrant colours - accents in coral, pink, rich greens, browns, yellow and orange
Teak wood, bamboo and rattan furniture
Plants and animals as focal points
